An outstanding marriage of art, design and architecture lies within the Denver Hilltop residence of Elizabeth Schlosser & Charlie Jordan. On June 6, enjoy an exclusive evening at their home with exceptional company including Kirkland Museum's Founding Director & Curator Hugh Grant and architect David Lynn Wise, AIA.
Immerse yourself in Colorado and regional art, modern furnishings and stories of the home's architecture and renovation inspired by the works of Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, Phillip Johnson and Carlo Scarpa.
About the home: The 2017 renovation of this 1954 home by David Lynn Wise, AIA, is striking in its respect for the structure's original design as well as the scale and character of the neighborhood. Originally built in 1954, additions were completed by Arthur Wise, AIA, in 1976. The interior of the home was designed by Wallis Jordan of Wallis Jordan Design. The art collection features modernist work by Colorado artists including Frank Mechau, Dale Chisman, Edgar Britton, Mary Chenoweth, Peppino Mangravite, Amy Metier and others.
About our host: Elizabeth Schlosser has authored three books on Denver's regional art circa 1919-1960 on the topics of painting, sculpture and clay art. She is a collector, former gallery owner, long-time historic preservationist and past executive director of Historic Denver. She also serves on the board of Denver Mountain Parks Foundation.
Food and Drink: Guests will enjoy passed hors d'oeuvres. Clos du Val wine is generously being provided by Myra and Robert Rich. Non-alcoholic beverages will also be available.
